I love sport, and I love exercising, so becoming a Personal Trainer in my later years was a no-brainer! My goal is to make fitness fun and accessible for as many women as possible. I want to offer a supportive, small group environment, where you can enjoy exercising in the fresh air (most of the year!) , and build connections with like-minded women.
I want to build your confidence in your fitness, so that you're fit for whatever life throws at you. We do lots of bodyweight work (or use light weights), working on movements you use everyday! Think.... playing with the youngsters in your whānau, getting down and up from the floor, reaching higher shelves.... We move in different planes, and our exercise should reflect that. We build in work on core strength, balance and agility, and you'll feel like an athlete!
Here's a short list of what I bring to exercise classes:
- First, I'm a qualified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor, and am REPs-registered.
- I'm a runner - anything from 5km upwards. I've done four marathons (and hoping for a fifth) and numerous half-marathons.
- I've played rep netball (a long time ago!), and I still play the odd quarter for my team in a low grade....
- I have coached junior cricket and netball, and have some basic coaching qualifications !
- I belong to the Wellington Marathon Clinic (now known as Wellington Runners & Walkers) - feel free to join us one Sunday!
- Most of my working life was spent in the NZ Public Service, working on statistical publications.
- In a past life, I was a high school teacher, so I really enjoy working with groups!
During April, I'm inviting you to try up to three classes FREE! Contact me at:
